About DiskSearch
DiskSearch is a tool for searching for files on all your removable media disks,
e.g. DVD's, SD cards or backup tapes. For instance you can search for songs on
your MP3-CD's or for a document on your backup DVD's. For advanced queries there
is a regular expression search mode.
The search is based on a simple database file which needs to be filled once by
adding all your disks to it.

- 2013/12/21: The DiskSearch website has been updated to match the look & feel of the
other project websites at saring.de. It's now based on
HTML 5 and Bootstrap instead of XHTML 1.0
- 2008/03/24: DiskSearch is now available in the Ubuntu and Debian repositories,
so the user can simply install it by typing apt-get install disksearch.

- 2007/08/28: Version 1.2.1 has been released. It contains XSL printing
improvements, an encoding bugfix for problems with special characters and
updated translations.
- 2007/06/25: Version 1.2.0 released. DiskSearch can now create disk covers
in many formats and it contains unit tests for all major application components.

- 2006/12/10: Ubuntu users can now download DiskSearch packages for Edgy and
Dapper at www.getdeb.net.

- 2006/06/30: Version 1.1.1 released. This is a minor bugfix release since a long
time. It fixes the deprecated usage of Gtk boolean type.
- 2004/12/31: Version 1.1.0 released. The main changes: the date when the disk was
added and the size for each file will be stored and displayed for all new added disks.
The disk content and search results are displayed in treeviews for better overview.
Requirements
DiskSearch is written in Python using the Python bindings for the GTK+ toolkit.
So you need:
DiskSearch is tested on GNU/Linux (e.g. Ubuntu 7.10) and on Windows 2000/XP,
although it should work on all Unix-like and Win32 systems.
